Ares is not free try another free downloading for music?

I have a new computer and am looking for a reputable web where i can download "FREE" music ares is not free and i'm not even sure how to with this media 11 player built in. I use to use limewire but have been warned by alot of people that it's not safe...virus etc...any suggestions???
