Homecoming corsage?

My date recently informed me that he has already bought me a corsage for our homecoming dance, which is in a little less than a week from now. While I'm really glad about it, I'm not sure if it will keep until then. :( What is the normal amount of time corsages last before they wilt? Am I supposed to get him a bouttoniere?
