Is this baseball year going to be the year of Ken Griffey Jr and his legacy?

People question why Seatlle would give 2+ million dollars to a DH who batted .214 last year. But, for a team who hasn't made the playoffs too many times and still in search of a world series appearance, Ken Griffey is a ticket seller and this year needs to accomplish very little to reach a significant milestone in RBI.'s If Griiffey earns 51 RBI's he will have surped six players and be in the top 10 all-time in RBI history with 1880. Even if he plays very little he only needs to collect 16 RBI's to surp Dave Winfield, Rafael Palmiero, Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski, and only 31 RBI to surp Met Ott on the List. With his 5 lost/shortened seasons in his prime to injuries and the cloud of the Steriod Era, these stat aclations will create more buzz about Griffey's place in the patheon of the greatest players ever especially being a player the suspicion of steriod use never has been ociated with. Furthermore with two top of the rotation #1 starters in Cliff Lee and Felix Hernandez, the Mariners will be competitive in the hunt for a division title. The question of where Griffey ranks is not the point of my question, what is, is that Griffey play this year reguardless of how well he plays or contributes, benefits the Mariners and the organization in ticket sales and in terms of historical context, if the experiment of Cliff Lee doesn't land the Mariners in the playoffs, Griffey's slow, over the hill average bat speed that may hit 10hr and 50RBI, wil make a the season a bright one in Seattle's history. Let me know what you think?
