Why do people lie to children and tell them that Santa Claus exists?

Santa Claus, St. Nicholas does exist; I still believe and I am 51 ; I believe that there the spirit lives on and you never know what may show up to surprise you with feelings , gifts of love, inspiration and support, Santa takes many forms in the name of Jesus
