If I buy a used car from NC and I don't live near there, when it breaks down do I have to tow it back there?

I am looking at an '06 Lexus from NC. I live in VA. The dealer's webpage says it still has a warranty, a lifetime one at that, which makes me kind of wary as that is a tad bit unreal. Anywho, if it broke down would I have to take it all the way back to NC, possibly via tow, just to get it fixed under warranty?!?!?! P.S. the nearest lexus dealer is 56 miles away. That's still kind of far and I don't think they would honor the other dealer's warranty. This is my first car so I am really new to this.
