Is making artificial intelligence imoral in a Christians eyes?

So get this my friend steve is one of these militant Christians who belives that making a working AI is wrong becuase "only god has the right to make life and it was he that made it possible for women to have babys" so is it wrong to create life through artificial means e.g. AI? This guy hate science so much becuase it undermines and exposes Christianity so I think he just might be speaking a load of crap.
