Should I fall to their level and do what they expect, or just do what I think is right?

You should never under any cirstance lower your standards for any coward. All it will do is put you in the same category. You should do what you know is the right thing. Inform the proper authoriities, either in person or via an alternate method. But wrong is wrong no matter how they try to justify it. Follow your own instincts.
